SNAP-8 (ACETYL OCTAPEPTIDE-3)
Compound Overview
SNAP-8, also known as Acetyl Octapeptide-3, is a synthetic octapeptide developed as an extension of Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline®). It was engineered by adding three amino acids to the parent peptide sequence, with the objective of enhancing interactions with components of the SNARE (Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-Sensitive Factor Attachment Protein Receptor) protein complex involved in synaptic vesicle fusion and exocytosis.
Researchers have investigated SNAP-8 as a model peptide for studying cellular communication, membrane fusion mechanisms, neurotransmitter vesicle dynamics, peptide-receptor interactions, and protein-protein interactions within the SNARE complex. Experimental studies continue to explore its biochemical properties, peptide engineering characteristics, and structure-activity relationships in controlled laboratory settings.
As an investigational peptide, SNAP-8 supports laboratory research involving molecular biology, peptide chemistry, protein interaction studies, cellular signaling, and membrane physiology.

Laboratory Handling
Store refrigerated immediately upon receipt to preserve peptide stability. For extended laboratory storage, freezing at −20°C or below is recommended. Protect the lyophilized peptide from moisture, excessive heat, and direct light. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles following reconstitution, as these may reduce peptide stability and structural integrity. Allow the vial to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to minimize condensation, and always use sterile laboratory equipment together with appropriate aseptic laboratory techniques. This product is intended for use only by qualified research personnel operating in controlled laboratory environments.
