SEMAX
Compound Overview
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the N-terminal fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4–10) with the addition of a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro (PGP) sequence to improve enzymatic stability and prolong biological activity. Unlike the parent ACTH peptide, Semax does not exhibit hormonal activity associated with adrenal corticosteroid production, making it a valuable investigational peptide for studying neurobiology, peptide pharmacology, and molecular signaling.
Researchers continue to investigate Semax in experimental models to better understand its interactions with neurotrophic signaling pathways, neuropeptide regulation, gene expression, and central nervous system physiology. Laboratory Handling
Store refrigerated immediately upon receipt to preserve peptide stability. For extended laboratory storage, freezing at −20°C or below is recommended.
