Compound Overview

Kisspeptin-10 (KP-10) is a synthetic 10-amino acid peptide corresponding to the C-terminal active fragment of the endogenous kisspeptin protein encoded by the KISS1 gene. As the shortest biologically active fragment of the kisspeptin family, Kisspeptin-10 retains high affinity for the KISS1 receptor (KISS1R/GPR54) and has become an important investigational peptide in reproductive endocrinology, neurobiology, and receptor pharmacology research.

Researchers have extensively investigated Kisspeptin-10 for its interactions with KISS1R, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) expressed within the hypothalamus and other tissues. Experimental studies have examined its role in regulating gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neuronal signaling, neuroendocrine communication, reproductive physiology, intracellular calcium signaling, and endocrine feedback mechanisms. Due to its well-characterized receptor biology, Kisspeptin-10 serves as a valuable molecular probe for studying hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis regulation, GPCR signaling, and peptide-receptor interactions.

As an investigational peptide, Kisspeptin-10 supports laboratory research involving neuroendocrinology, reproductive biology, molecular pharmacology, peptide chemistry, and structure-activity relationship studies.

Laboratory Handling

Store refrigerated immediately upon receipt to preserve peptide stability. For extended laboratory storage, freezing at −20°C or below is recommended. Protect the lyophilized peptide from moisture, excessive heat, and direct light. Following reconstitution, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as these may reduce peptide stability and biological integrity. Allow the vial to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to minimize condensation, and always use sterile laboratory equipment together with appropriate aseptic laboratory techniques. This product is intended for use only by qualified research personnel operating in controlled laboratory environments.
